We are hiring: Seismic Data Analyst

Are you Sharp’s next seismic analysis specialist?

We’re looking for a driven colleague to help us grow our integrated geophysical consulting services.

Are you a technical specialist in QI and/or AVO processing? Do you want to break out of that tired, siloed work environment and join our integrated processing and amplitude interpretation team? Do you enjoy creative problem solving, and appreciate the impact of data quality on analytical results? If so, you’ll be an outstanding addition to our already strong team.

Sharp Reflections has challenged the status quo by developing software to initiate seismic amplitude interpretation before the data are stacked. Our PreStack Pro software leverages Big Data computing to integrate gather QC and processing directly into the QI workflow. We help our clients interrogate large amounts of data, improve its reliability, identify new drilling opportunities, and avoid unnecessary business risks.

Developing our solution with ambition and spirit has earned us respect, a great reputation, and awesome customers that we value more than anything. Our customers tell us that they love working with us – we think that’s because we love co-creating with them, as a team.

As senior geophysicist, you’ll work alongside a global team of geophysical experts, focusing on delivery of exemplary technical services. You’ll team up with colleagues to develop creative and compelling service offerings that leverage your experience and our software. You should have a passion for outside-the-box problem-solving, an analytical mindset, and an ability to distill complex ideas into clear messages. As a trusted advisor, you’ll always have the client’s best interests in mind. We aim to be a strategic partner and help our customers make informed decisions and achieve their business goals.

The ideal candidate:

  • Brings hands-on experience with pre-stack seismic data processing & QC, amplitude interpretation, attributes screening, and pre-stack seismic inversion. Applied knowledge of time-lapse and/or azimuthal seismic is also a plus.
  • Has strong interpersonal and communication skills, and presents technical results clearly to diverse stakeholder groups
  • Proposes and implements innovative solutions to both peers and customers
  • Is a collaborative, creative thinker who can simultaneously work independently and know when to proactively seek guidance from peers
  • Learns software quickly, with the desire and dedication to achieve mastery (prior exposure to PreStack Pro is a plus)
  • Is willing to work flexible hours that span multiple time zones (Western and Eastern Hemispheres). Home base in the Americas is preferred, but not required
  • Has worked as a reservoir geophysicist for an oil and gas operator (preferred but not required)

Your curiosity, interest, and passion for what we do may be just as interesting as many years of experience.

We offer full-time work in a flexible workplace, competitive pay, great co-workers around the world, and evangelical customers. You will report to the Head of Services, who thrives on collaboration, innovation, and meeting challenges head on.

Do you think this could be a good match for you? If you feel inspired and excited by what you’ve read, please get in touch with us! Send a CV and a letter of interest by 2 September to Joe Zuech, joe.zuech@sharpreflections.com.
