Key Responsibilities

  • Work in a cross-functional development team to identify test cases for the work items in the sprint and build proper test automation
  • Develop, coordinate and implement a test strategy for our main product and related plugins
  • Improve, extend and maintain automated test suites to support rapid agile development and frequent release
  • Plan and perform manual testing where necessary, coordinate with domain experts and strive to automate as much as possible
  • Bring your expertise to the team and mentor team members to uplevel the quality engineering practices and build quality in from the beginning
  • Collect insights, identify problems or bottlenecks and proactively work on continuous improvement of our processes and environment
  • Work in an international environment, with daily collaboration with colleagues in Germany, UK, Norway and the US

Required Qualifications

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in computer science, engineering or equivalent qualification
  • 5+ years of experience of working in a quality engineering role
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience of apply quality engineering methodologies, tools and processes in a cross-functional agile team with focus on data-driven decision making
  • Knowledge in Python- and C++. Technologies like C#, Java, JS would be a plus
  • Expertise in Linux. HPC and Windows-systems, AWS and cloud systems would be a plus
  • Fluent English communication skills
  • Mindset of a team player, seeing quality engineering and applying modern software engineering practices as an integral part of the agile development flow
  • Flexibility to accommodate overlapping time with other time zones if required
  • Experience in a quality engineering role for scientific software would be a plus

  • Full-Time (40h)
  • Location: Kaiserslautern or Remote in Germany
  • Applicants must be legally entitled to live and work in Germany
  • Some travel (e.g. for the regular office day in Kaiserslautern) is required
