Sharp Reflections Release 2026.2

What’s New in 2026.2

Release 2026.2 brings powerful new visualization, performance, and reproducibility enhancements designed to accelerate quantitative interpretation workflows from insight to decision.

Major Features and Improvements on:

$

Map-Based Quality Control – See the Bigger Picture:

Take QC beyond seismic sections with a fully integrated map-based workflow. Instantly validate the spatial consistency of EEI and AVO results across the entire survey, while synchronized map and section views enable seamless interpretation and faster decision-making.

$

Horizon-Linked Probes – Smarter Geological Insights:

Unlock targeted analysis with horizon-linked probes in the Chi/EEI workflow. Perform precise cross-plot investigations along structural trends, reservoir boundaries, and key geological features to accelerate interpretation confidence.

$

Well Log Overlays – Correlate Data at a Glance:

Bring well and seismic information together in one view. Display well log curves directly on QC sections for immediate comparison with computed attributes, reducing interpretation time and improving validation workflows.

$

Turbocharged Performance for Large Datasets:

New controls dramatically enhance responsiveness for wavelet extraction and map visualization. Test parameters in real time, iterate faster, and interactively refine results—even on the largest seismic volumes.

$

Session Management – Pick Up Where You Left Off:

Save, restore, and reproduce complete QIGuide projects with a single click. Preserve parameters, probes, display settings, decimation options, and map workflows to ensure consistency, efficiency, and repeatable results across teams and projects.

Title

$

Enhanced algorithm support improves performance directly on live traces, helping users accelerate everyday tasks while reducing unnecessary processing overhead.

$

From stencil support, time alignment (Align 2), and interactive stacking to partial-stack creation and QC, the workflow is now better equipped to deliver rapid insight and more productive seismic interpretation using irregular geometry seismic data.

$

In addition, map generation, smoothing filters, spectral analysis, and volume calculations help produce cleaner results and support more efficient interpretation.

$

Advanced Inversion Support:

PCube+ and CRAVA have been reviewed and validated for compatibility with horizontal wells.

$

Improve handling of  TVD & MD:

  •  Improved quality controls ensure more robust handling of TVD and MD relationships. Enhanced validation of TD tables helps eliminate ambiguous conversions and safeguards interpretation workflows from undefined behavior
  • Visualization of horizontal wells: Overlays and calculating a trace along a deviated well are now supported.
  • Log viewer and well tie: can now handle horizontal wells.
$

Time-depth table for wells without one:

Create a time-depth table from a Vp log and a single tie point is now possible in Sharp Reflections 2026.2. Further functionalities on this topic will be rolled out in the next releases.
