Sharp Reflections Release 2026.2
Sharp Reflections Software 2026.2 is now available for download.
Extending the innovation delivered in Release 2026.1, Sharp Reflections introduces a new set of capabilities aimed at scaling quantitative interpretation workflows, improving well-seismic integration, and enhancing interpretation fidelity:
Interactive AVA Screening at Scale with real-time EEI-driven classification for rapid elastic anomaly detection and prospect ranking.
Advanced Well Trajectory Support for complex horizontal and highly deviated wells, ensuring accurate visualization and integration of unconventional borehole geometries.
Seamless Time-Depth Model Construction by leveraging sonic log information to automatically generate robust time-depth relationships in wells where no time-depth relation exists. This accelerates well calibration, improves seismic-to-well integration, and provides a foundation for synthetic generation, horizon calibration, and quantitative interpretation workflows.

Release 2026.2 brings powerful new visualization, performance, and reproducibility enhancements designed to accelerate quantitative interpretation workflows from insight to decision.
Major Features and Improvements on:
QIGuide
QIGuide now brings real-time, interactive map-based AVA screening to the Colored Inversion workflow. Users can move beyond section-based analysis and instantly visualize AVA classification across a selected horizon, with maps dynamically linked to the workflow for a true 3D understanding of parameter impact. This enables faster testing of Colored Inversion settings, comparison of seismic inputs, and quicker AVA assessment for more confident interpretation.
This allows geoscientists to validate interpretation results across the entire survey area interactively.
Who said that you had to wait to see the impact of a conditioning sequence on the AVA Classification? Make informed decisions from an end user’s point of view. All this, thanks to our collaboration with Equinor.

Live Trace Only workflows are now faster, smarter, and more efficient across a wider range of interpretation and conditioning tools.
Enhanced algorithm support improves performance directly on live traces, helping users accelerate everyday tasks while reducing unnecessary processing overhead.
From stencil support, time alignment (Align 2), and interactive stacking to partial-stack creation and QC, the workflow is now better equipped to deliver rapid insight and more productive seismic interpretation using irregular geometry seismic data.
In addition, map generation, smoothing filters, spectral analysis, and volume calculations help produce cleaner results and support more efficient interpretation.

Comprehensive horizontal and high-angle well support. From well ties and inversion(s) to visualization and crossplot analysis, Release 2026.2 delivers robust support for horizontal and highly deviated wells, extending quantitative interpretation capabilities to the most challenging reservoir settings.

Advanced Inversion Support:
PCube+ and CRAVA have been reviewed and validated for compatibility with horizontal wells.
Improve handling of TVD & MD:
- Improved quality controls ensure more robust handling of TVD and MD relationships. Enhanced validation of TD tables helps eliminate ambiguous conversions and safeguards interpretation workflows from undefined behavior
- Visualization of horizontal wells: Overlays and calculating a trace along a deviated well are now supported.
- Log viewer and well tie: can now handle horizontal wells.
Crossplot: All the crossplot functionalities work with horizontal wells.
