Sharp Reflections Release 2023: Time for 4D

Sharp Reflections Release 2023 puts 4D seismic analysis into high-fidelity focus for 2024.

New tools and expanded capabilities in this release give users the freedom to analyze, model and interpret production-induced seismic effects with unparalleled flexibility, speed and confidence.

“Huge volumes of 4D seismic data are flooding into the hands of operators today,” says Bill Shea, Sharp Reflections CEO. “With new acquisition technologies and frequent surveys, they face a never ending challenge to monitor this data, compare vintages, and extract meaningful information. Without the right tools, it is time-consuming, painstaking work without, and it doesn’t stop.

“Fortunately, Sharp Reflections has proved its expertise in deriving value from terabytes of prestack data. We know how to handle multidimensional datasets, and with this release, we have focused intensely on 4D.”

The new 4D capabilities improve understanding of dynamic reservoir changes such as fluid migration and pressure changes over time.

Release 2023.1 expands the scope of the Sharp Reflections 4D Time-Lapse toolkit to help users extract more from the assets they have. New in Release 2023.1:

Release 2023.1 is the third release to emerge from Sharp Reflections’ innovative Foundation Project V (FP-V) initiative. The collaborative research and development program, currently supported by 11 energy sector operators, is breaking new ground in its quest to help interpretation teams explore and analyze 4D big data so they can make timely, informed well placement decisions.
